How to Make Cristina’s Malunggay (moringa) Powder

crisonthesidelines.wordpress.com July 9, 2008

A simple way to make your powdered malunggay is this:

1. Harvest Malunggay leaves early morning just when the morning dew has dried up.

2. Bundle your malunggay leaves and hang upside down in a well ventilated room. Don’t expose it to sunlight.

3. Use brown paper bag to catch the falling leaves. You may use clothes’ pin to secure the brown paper bag to where you hang the malunggay leaves.

4, In due time the leaves will fall in the paper bag. When the leaves dried up   grind/blend. There you have it. Your home made malunggay powder.

5. Seal in a container. You can use the powder for your vegetable, soup, bread, dessert etc. mixes. You can even use this as tea.

just an additional tip. Use only malunggay fresh from the tree.

Another way of making your malunggay powder is to dry your freshly harvested malunggay  indirectly under the sun then pound when dried.

  1. A million thanks for sharing your recipes on moringa. God bless!

  2. ask ko lng po if hanggang keln po maglalast ung malunggay powder after nagawa at nasealed? thanx po in anvance.. wait ko po reply..more power po sa inyo!!!

    • may kaibahan poba ng result sa dried leaves under the sun with the ventilated room, which is better. thanks po

      • it is not advisable to dry it under the sun

Hope I gave you an idea.

    • Thank you for sharing this.

Ask ko lang, if it depends on the moisture content, would it be good to say na the drier it is, the longer it will last?

      • i guess your right. but basically, it lasts for 6 months not really longggggggggggggg time.

THANK GOD WE HAVE MALUNGGAY IN OUR COUNTRY.

      • o nga princess

  5. Lailanie

    you are most welcome

Tantyahan talaga yun. Trial and error ka.

    cris

    • that was enlightening…

  8. Thanks for the tip! That really sounds easy to do. 🙂 I mentioned your post in my blog too.

  9. Hi Meg Si,

Thanks for dropping by my blog and for linking my blog to your post.
I will check your blog also from time to time to get ideas. My child is on Gluten free Casein Free diet.
    cris

  10. you have a very informative site… I will try preparing these recipes you published here. We are greatly endorsing the propagating of malunggay in my hometown to combat malnutrition and be a future source of livelihood for my poor kababayans. I want to seek your advise on where I could learn how to make pancit canton in commercial quantity and where to source the equipments needed as im planning to put up a small business… thank You

  11. Hi mearl,

I’m glad that you consider my blog informative. Thank you.

As to your inquiry, you may start with your local DOST office and inquire about training, equipments needed, etc. If you are in Manila, TLRC is a good source of info also.

    Good luck to your endeavors.

    cris

  14. im looking for malunggay ice cream recipe which i could teach our women to sell to public schools so children can have access to more nutritious ice cream .pls send me all recipes. thanks

  15. i commend this blog for helping a lot of people to combat the chronic nutritional problem we are contronted today. more power to you.

  16. emmanped

    cris

  17. ellen,

thanks for dropping by my blog. I’ll check if I can find a recipe. I didn’t give this malunggay ice cream attention before but I will try to find a recipe and I’ll post it here.

    Good luck to your endeavors.

    cris

  18. Ellen,

I didn’t find any entry on malunggay ice cream when I searched the web. Maybe if you know how to make ice cream you can start experimenting with how much malunggay to put in it. you can choose between dried malunggay leaves or malunggay powder or fresh leaves. I personally don’t know how to make ice cream. Good luck.

    cris

    thanks..

    ana..

  20. ate cristina,
im a 4th year student po from meycauayan ask ko lang po if pano ko magagawang capsule ung malunggay para po maging antibiotic? research po kasi namin.. maraming thank you po

  21. Ana

Anyway, I heard na malunggay increases the sperm count of males.

Makakatulong din yun siguro to strengthen also the sperm cells. Saka sabi sa treesforlife.org mas lumalakas ang power ng malunggay pag dried ito. pls check out their website.

    Good luck.

    cris

    • Dear Cristina,

    Good luck.

    cris

and pwede ba ihalo yan with water only?

  24. Mike

  27. Hi! good day, Thanks for the information about malunggay, I am a school teacher here in Cavite. Last Sept my principal told me that the district wil be having an investigatory project, wala pa sa isip ko nuon na ano kaya ang aking entry for this competition, naisip ko n amalunggay na lang kaya na gawing tea, so nag pa project ako sa mga bata na magpatuyo ng malunggay at gawing powder ito. Yun powdered malunggay ang gawin naming tea but one of mu co techar told me na meron na sa market ng malunggay tea, naisip ko n alang na ihalo ang powdered malunggay sa polvorn and chips. I started to make a write ups for our investigatory project through your website nakita ko ang mga information na kung ano ang pde gawin s apowdered malunggay. This coming Oct 23-24 kasama kami sa Regional Science Fair. Ang Title ng entry ko “Powdered Malunggay Leaves – Used as Main Ingredient in Polvoron and Chips

  28. gud day!…saan po bang mas nagreretain yong nutrients 100% ….air dried malunggay ba o ung e steam muna bago e air dry?pls po i need ur response for our study,i’m a 4rth year college po and i am having a study about making a malunggay powder……..

Masarap! Pwedeng gawing negosyo.

  32. Pres,

Sa totoo lang di ko alam. Ang alam ko lang ay mas mataas ang nutrients ng dried malunggay than the fresh malunggay. Kindly check out treesforlife.org for more info.

I can’t call it technology. You may try researching DOST for technology which you can apply to drying malunggay.

    Good luck.

    cris

  33. Gabriela

    I re-research ko yan gabby.

    cris

  34. I took interest about the health benefits of malunggay for my two kids about a month ago and since then I have been researching the internet. I found out that you can mix malunggay with honey to have a better taste. Fresh from the tree and after washing, I squeeze the juice and mix with honey 1:1. Am I doing it right? Could you comment on my mixture? My procedure?

  35. joselle,

I think the honey is a bit too much. But it really depends on the one who’s going to drink the malunggay juice. Honey is good because it is natural, however, anything good will turn out bad if it is too much.

On the other hand, if you will still mix this mixture with water, I think it’s okay. I know kids really want something sweet. Knowing that the taste of fresh malunggay is somewhat strong.

But what you’re doing is good since you are also giving your kids liquid chlorophyll. Just watch out the honey because if its too much, you might be nourishing the candida albicans in their tummy.

    cris

  36. hi…may i ask if whats the use of powdered malungay?………tnxs…

  37. virgil
malunggay powder is used to enhance the nutrients of foods lacking in nutrients. Now, it’s also [ossible that the food is already nutritious but you still want to enhance it. It’s basically about nutrition.
    cris

  38. My 2 kids is sakitin, at don’t like to eat vegetables, especially malunggay, hindi ba maglalasang malunggay pag hinalo ko sa ibang putahe ang powder?

    thanks

  39. I wonder if you could simply dry them in microwave oven. I tried a few and it worked.

  40. elmer,

a friend told me today that you can dry malunggay in anyway as long as it is not exposed to sun. so i think what you did is okay.

    cris

  41. Gud day…
can u give me a formula of malunggay powder ?pls, mam cris thanx a lot…………..

  42. hi did moringa (malunggay) can help you with your ovuolation? or meaning it can help the fertility?

  43. mary ann,
yung sa ovulation, di ko alam. Maybe it’ll just help you improve your general health. Make your cells healthy. Maybe that’s what it will do to you. If you have good health maybe your fertility will follow.

pero what I can attest to is fresh malunngay juice helps ease pains during my mentrual period. These past few years I suffer from severe mentrual cramps whenever I have my monthly period. I feel feverish. If I don’t drink malunggay juice I suffer for two days. If I drink malunggay juice, I can work all day.

Salamat.

    cris

  46. hi cris,
i live here in new york, wala akong makitang fresh malunggay dito meron sila frozen na with water do you think okay pareho paba yun ng nutrition content nun as fresh malunggay. and one time i tried to put it in munggo soup kaya lang mapait sya dahil kaya frozen na ‘to? i’ll wait for your response

    myriam

  47. we buy malunggay dried leaves, any interested supplier pls. contact us @ 09154099152 or email me ..gokibori@hotmail.com

  48. Hey Christina,

Thank you for the information you’ve been sharing on this blog. It was all sooo interesting and informative.. Information about Mallungay has just reached me so I was doing some research on this tree and that was how I stumbled upon it and am I glad I did!

I was actually trying to find a source of Mallungay seeds – I’d like to experiment with planting some of these trees and hope to harvest the leaves to help my family members fight off their ailments – We are a family of 9 siblings and more than 1/2 of them have either cancer, heart disease or auto-immune disorder of one kind or other..

They have medical help right now, but I am a firm believer that most of these diseases are the cause of malnutrition and if I could have the natural healing properties of the Mallungay tree at hand, it would ensure their healing without compromising their already weakened health..

In this respect, I wonder if you could let me know how I may obtain some of the seeds from these trees? I would be very grateful..

I’m thinking that I’d like to make a trip there and visit one of these farms or something like that.. I believe it would be a very enriching learning experience for me.. I’ve never been to the Philippines anyway..

    Thank you and God Bless!
    Zoe

  49. Zoe,

hi. Thanks for dropping by. I can ask some friends for malunggay seeds I may be able to provide what you need depending on the quantity. if for personal needs only, I can give you some. However, it seems you are not from the philippines, the probable problem is how to bring them out of the phils. you might have a problem with the airline. anyway, if you really want to visit the philippines, email me if you think i might be of help. my email address is crisonthesidelines@yahoo.com
It’s good that you believe in malunggay. It is really a wonder veggie. At present, if there is any health problem in my family, we have only two immediate remedies: virgin coconut oil and/or malunggay. Its high time we go back to the basics.

good luck, hope to see you soon here in the philippines.

    cris

  62. Dear Cris,

Hello, my friend gave me some mallungay capsules, I believe in the healing power of this miracle tree. If I order from Carita or JVN food products and be the sole agent in England It is a herbal/supplement food , will there be restrictions?

I am very much interested to promote this to the filipino community. Most of the young genration now eat processed foods. I am on healthy living and grow my own organic vegs in my allotment.

    Looking forward to your reply.

  63. Dear Naomi,

It really depends on your place’ business requirements and restrictions. Basically, you have to import your malunggay products from the Philippines, or, if you know somebody who regularly goes to phils and back to England, maybe you can just ask that person to bring the products with him/her or the manufacturer here will send you their products via a courier.

But to sell the products there, you must check out your local business requirements. But I think its okay to sell to your friends, etc., for a start. That way, you will know the demand. If its good, why not go full blast. Good Luck. Please keep in touch.

    cris

  64. Hi! I’m Dick, 34 years, I was stricken by chronic kidney disease last year and has been on peritoneal dialysis for 7 months now.

I heard on a popular radio station that moringa roots can help cure kidney disorders even those who are already on dialysis.

Is there a scientific basis to that claim? If so, this nature’s wonder could already be the answer that we dialysis patients have been waiting for.

  65. Hi Dick,

I want to share with you the info from StuartXchange. Here’s the link:
    http://www.stuartxchange.org/Malunggay.html

I hope this site will increase your knowledge about Malunggay. I also have a medical condition now that I’m treating with malunggay and other vegetables. I will write about it this week.

If you find new info, please share with us also.
    Hope you get really better.

    cris

  67. perly

am sorry but i haven’t gone to researching how to preserve the juice. I always believe it’s best to keep it fresh. I hope if you find ways to preserve it and has made a machine to do it, you’ll have the time to share it with us. Thanks.

  68. hi everyone! its so nice to see a blog like this.

I just want to share my moms experience with malunggay.

My mom has diabetes for more than 30 years now and early this year she was in and out of the hospital due to hypertension. The doctors gave her several medicines for her hypertension and diabetes but it didnt work until one of her friends told her about the power of malunggay.

Since she started drinking malunggay juice and taking malunggay powder her blood pressure became stable and her blood sugar at normal level.

She also has a special malunggay juice recipe, she’s mixing malunggay leaves with garlic, ginger, onion and sili (chili) and then put it on a blender. According to some herbalists, this recipe is good for diabetes, hypertension, flu and cold prevention and a good source of vitamins and minerals. For teenagers who has pimple or acne problems, this is the solution to your problem too.

I am not a malunggay user yet but I’ve seen the effects on my family, friends and relatives’ health.

My mom is now spreading the wonders of malunggay in our community to help those who cant afford to go the hospital. She’s preparing malunggay juice and would give it to our neighbors for free.

One more thing, for those people who’s been dreaming of a fair and rosy cheeks skin, forget about glutathione, try malunggay powder or malunggay juice for 2 weeks and you’ll see the difference.

btw, I know someone who’s selling malunggay powder and I’ll go there today to buy for myself.

  69. hi nani,

I’m so happy to hear this news. Thank you for sharing the good news. btw also, i am already making malunggay powder and is available to anyone who is interested to buy. Soon, I will start a multiply account for my products, vermicompost, composting worms, organic coconut vinegar, and malunggay powder.

    thanks for dropping by

      cris

  82. hi cristina!

Try it. Mag po-post ako ng paraan from Bureau of Plant Idustry ng pag gawa ng malunggay powder para mas makatulong sa lahat.

  83. sir / madam,

    tnx u poh…

    • peter,

  84. where can i buy malunggay powder here in manila

  85. ate cristina is it true po ba n my malunggay condensed ?

  87. gudpm maam,

    • puede roxanne. puede ang udea mo. it’s a good theses idea

  88. This malunggay is quite easy to propagate. Every vacant lot should have a tree or two. In order to preserve the Vitamin C and other heat labile vitamins, it should be taken uncooked. The powder is indeed convenient. I remember as a child we have a malunggay tree and my grandmother sells it on an honor system – For 5 centavos, the buyer just pick what he or she needs directly from the tree ! That’s many years ago.

    • thanks manny for sharing your thoughts.

      cris

  89. Hello everyone… this is an extraordinary blog i should say… very interesting… thank you Ms Cris… i learn a lot this day…
Here in Bulacan, a word of mouth runs about the importance of moringa. saying they heard that from a radio station airing about herbal medicine….
i just then followed through your previous blogs today and then bridge the information gap…
Maraming salamat uli and Go Bless you!

    • God Bless you also.

  90. hi tina,

okay lang ba na kahit hindi brown paper ang paglalagyan? at tska what the difference sa original na leaves kesa sa dry and powder? may nabawas ba sa nutrients ?

    thanks

try making it na. good luck

  91. malunggay coffee marunong ako

    • hi jojo,

    • hi ronnie. oo nga try mo yan. saka you may want to try virgin coconut oil also. that’s to improve your immune system

  94. greetings,
after drying ng malunggay i’ve read somewhere na isangag pa. is it necessary to do so or this procedure is just to make sure na maalis ang moisture. In case na isangag nga, for how long should we do it.

Also which leaves are most preferred, the young or the matured ones.

    thank you and best regards
    rubi

    • the right word is ibusa. so walang mantika. mga 2-3 minutes of roasting is enough. best is the green leaves. kasi pag kukunin mo yung young leaves, mamamatay na yung malunggay at wala ka nang ma ha harvest sa susunod. heheheh. good luck

      • hello again,
thanks for your prompt reply, medyo late ko nabasa kasi naglakwatsa ako sa mindanao area. IBUSA pala ang term, thanks.
right now medyo marami ang na powder kong malunggay, isip ko na i-capsule, any idea as to how much should i put in each capsule. ano kaya dosage, meron din kayang over dosage.

      • hi cris,
question again, yun bang powdered malunggay (carefully bottled and sealed) is better to be stored sa refrigerator? also, I tried my first cup of tea, medyo light lang ang ginawa ko(2 teaspoons in a cup of hot water) baka kasi mag react ang tummy ko. so far, umikot pa rin, ha ha ha. but i am still okay so far.

      • oo rubi mas mabuti i store siya sa ref to keep it away from light. yung 2 tsps medyo madami yun para sa akin sa isang inuman. 1 tspn lang kaya ko hehehe

      • hi rubi. if you put it in a capsule, basically you can make 5 capsules in 1 tspoon (5g)

    • hi grace. salamat naman at may bago tayong input for special children’ diet. naka gluten free casein free (GFCF) diet ba kapatid mo? alam mo, maganda talaga yung virgin coconut oil. makakatulong na malinis yung digestive system niya. please search on virgin coconut oil and autism/attention disorder

GOOD LUCK

    • I think I can answer that….. kung leaves lang iinumin niyo, no problem kasi mas manonourish ang reproductive system niyo especially kung both husband and wife ang magcoconsume mas matutulungang kayong magbuntis. What is said to be causing infertility ay yung malunggay roots… however, the roots is important too kasi in combination with the leaves mas lalong mapapabilis ang paggaling sa sakit including a host of dreaded diseases —- true!!!

Thank you to Ms. Cristina for putting up this blog. I have a bottle of Virgin Coconut oil from Carica which i haven’t tried consuming yet, I wonder if I can produce my own VCO at a lesser cost. May method po ba kayo and approximate costing available?

      • thank you also for dropping by my corner. as to vco ian, about 16-20 coconuts will give you 1 liter of vco. it varies because it depends on the size of the coconuts, maturity, and how well you press it. I will discuss more of it in future posts if my sked allows it.

Of course, you will save a lot if you make it. Just invest time. Its best if the coconuts you use are freshly harvested.

  98. ..anu po ba mas ok gamitin sa muffin?blended malunggay or owdered malungay?..tnx poh..

    • blended malunggay ang ginagamit ko maureen, baked or stemed muffins

  103. Here in Manila there are companies involved in MLM / Networking business which actually sells the malunggay powder in capsule form at P10 to P14 per 500 mg. capsule and still it sells because the product really works (aside of course from the marketing strategy) ….. thru this blog, we know more or less already how much we can save, the problem na lang is sourcing the fresh malunggay leaves. I’m would like to try planting them in pots or plastic bags and see if I could propagate malunggay shrubs on our rooftop area.

By the way Ms. Cristina, have you any write-up on how to produce Virgin Coconut Oil? I have one bottle from Carica which I haven’t tried yet. I wonder if I could make one myself using coconuts from the market or from nearby provinces. Would it be worth the effort and money?

    Thanks and More Power!

  104. Thank you for starting on this very informative topics re: Malunggay/Moringa. I would like to ask a follow up question regarding the shelf-life of Malunggay Powder. Since I know you are selling them also, how long do you think they will last based on your personal recommendation? Would you still stick to the 6months you mentioned in your previous answer?

    Thank you and God Bless!

    • yes denise. I stick to my 6 months shelf life. God Bless!

  105. ate nu poh ba ung mga materials nito ? gagawin ko lang poh kc toh as a investigatory project . Thanks 😀

  106. Hi Ate Cris. I’m so interested with your malunggay powder. Infact I had already dried leaves however i dried them directly under the sun. then store it in containers. Is drying directly under the sun lessens the nutrients of the malunggay leaves? Please give info about this. More power to your blog!

  107. ask q lang po after drying the malunggay leaves..ok lng po ba na isanglag or ilagay sa kawali, halohaluin ito but in low fire??and wat po ba talaga ang right color ng moringa powder??dark green or light green..thx po…4 project po kasi.. God bless!

      • tnx po sa info…it help a lot.now i know mas better pala ang dark green na color ng malunggay leaves..God bless!!

  109. pwd po ba sa broiler to mix in thier feeds

    • oo jane. either you boil the fresh leaves and give to your chickens or you add powder to their water. just dilute it well kasi baka masobrahan din

  110. Ma’am my alam po b kayo n ngbbnta n malunggay leaves?pra po sa pfs nmin..ung mdmihan po kz 10kg mlunggy leaves ung need nmin a day.tnx po

  111. […] The busiest day of the year was April 7th with 425 views. The most popular post that day was How to Make Cristina’s Malunggay (moringa) Powder. […]

  112. hi ate tina,

  113. I got i lot of information from the blog. Do you know where to buy malunggay powder?

    • hi nolan, where are you from? cebu? manila?

God bless you because you’re a blessing to us.
    more power!
    charo

I have some buyers na din po of my malunggay powder kasi they like it because the way I sterilize my powder and preparation and also po the outcome of the product is export quality talaga. thanks mam cris

  116. Hi! I am interested to buy malunggay powder. Can anyone please advise or refer me kung saan ako makabili? My e-mail add is: louie781@yahoo.com. Thank you.

    • where are you from louie? you may search the net about sellers in your area. like if you are from manila, you add it to your search. good luck

  117. hi ms. cris mahilig po talaga ako sa malunggay kaya gusto ko pong gawin ang paggawa ng powder.puede po bang gamitin and ordinary blender?what kind of grinder po b ang dapat gamitin sa pag grind ng malunggay?macrisanjose@yahoo.com.thank you!!

    • hi cristina,

blender is fine basta meron siyang dry mill. yung mga blender kasi natin ngayon, yung iba pang wet mill lang. hanapin mo yung me blades siya for dry mill. me mabibili ka niyan, tyaga lang sa paghahanap
      good luck.

  119. goo day po!

    • reginald,

    • hi lou,

at the moment i’m on resting mode pa. will start making it by next year again. though i make sometimes for some old clients.

    • oo tom puede sa amplaya at puede din sa iba pa. as to exact amount of nutrients left, we really need to have it checked sa lab

      • salamat

  125. hi ma’am cris, just drop by and to know if you recieve my mail. Thanks…
    Gob bless…

    roger

    • rogelio, sorry it was really a late reply. got too busy. i’m sorry

  126. hi mam cris ask ko lang po if you are still making malunggay powder? i want to try your malungay powder… im from carcar cebu…

    • hi regie,

i’m on hiatus. i really hope to have time to start making it by january 2012. hopefully. i will let you know. thanks

  128. maam cris,

My mother likes it very much….. she takes 1 capsule every after meal….. nawala ang kanyang pananakit sa tiyan o (acidic ulcer) and she is 84 years old now….. thanks maam cris…..

  129. thanks po sa idea na e popowder ang malunggay,,, actually, i am making malunggay ice cream as my science investigatory project.. it was VERY SUCCESFUL TALAGA… pro nung ginawa ko yung project ko, i used pureed malunggay leaves.. but after mong sinaba na mas nagiging effective ang malunggay, i will try and use it instead.. more power…

  132. does oven drying cause nutrient loss at malunggay like in sun drying? can i use fresh malunggay for pandesal or it should be dried? TY!

  133. Hello, I am a yoga teacher from Bali, Indonesia. Thanks a lot for nice info.

  137. Cris,

I was reading your blog and please allow me to say that people like you are “God Send” . I just hope that there are more people like you and I (I am trying to be one like, hehehehe! LOL). I am researching the Internet, and all any other information that I can get. I have a lot of info that I have gathered from my own research and just fine tuning my resources and applying it more to myself and sharing it to whoever who wants it, in order to help out anybody in the whole world.

I accidentally stumbled in your blog because I want to know how to powder vegetables leaves particularly Gymnema Sylvestre (still I cannot find a source of the leaves to plant), instead, I am using Ampaya or Bitter Mellon or Bitter Gourd (as an alternate to Gynema Sylvestre for Diabetes), and will try Banaba, & Malungay.

I think I have found the a cheap way to prolong Life up to 100-years without Cancer, Stroke, High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. It is really very simple but nobody taught since I was a young Boy from Dumaguete City – the City of gentle People, hehehehe! LOL, then finished my Civil Engineering Degree in C I T and then worked as an Engineer/Builder all over the Philippines and then all overt the World and finally settled here in L A , California. They all taught to eat meat for protein.

I look behind my past – I can remember that I used to be a good looking 32-year old and all of a sudden of I look old, burnt skin, arthritic joints, bulging tummy, overweight and was taking 10 – prescription drugs for High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, Diabetes, Prostates and soon at a young age of 65 (I look like I a 55-years old, really, not that bad). My body is weak and drowsy all the time – like a walking Zombie. I have a diminished quality of life – the only thing that is doing good for me is my Libido – it is not affected yet, hehehehe, LOL.

Last time I went my doctor and I insisted that I will stop my meds but he did not agree. Please be informed that in the Philippines or in the U S, there is a conspiracy – Biggggg Time, by the Doctors, Pharmaceutical Companies, and the food industry, with the Government support to fool the population – to eat meat (advertise as protein and milk) and to take drugs when sick. Government. The meat products are all scientifically altered with hormones. These hormones will activate your inborn Cancer Genes floating around your body, the results, for women – Cancer of the Breast, vaginal, cervix, ovary, liver, pancreas and any other cancer you can activate and for men, most the same as women except the reproductive organs which of course men do not have.

It is really very simple which we should teach everybody not to eat Beef, Pork, Chicken and any meat products. Eat fish but make sure there is Mercury contamination and eat four to six kinds of fruits and four the six kinds of vegetables, as colorful (as green, yellow, red blue. violet and soon as possible) with a kalamansi, suka, sili, luya, mint leaves (in bisaya -kalungongkugong). In order word, eat a salad all the time. This is a simple vegetarian diet. If you want o lost weight, do this for at least four weeks or when you attain your goals and then become a Vegan (eating meat products at least once a week).

Do not limit your food intake on a Plant based diet. You can eat as much as you want and do not count calories. Since I can not eat that many fruits and vegetables, I grind it and add water to make it drinkable and refrigerate for a four day supply separately for the fruits, the salads, and now the ampalaya. Two full glass of the fruit and salads at less three times a day, and 1/2 glass three times a day of ampalaya, it tatse awful but thsi is fro my survival – when I dink this otherwise somebody else will be wearing my pajamas an sleeping besides my beautiful girlfriend, hehehehe! LOL ( I am kidding – I have been married for 40-years).

Now for the result, I was a 240 -pounder, 5 feet 10 inches who drinks 24-bottles of San Miguel a day when I was a good looking 24- years old to an ugly, old and worn out 65 -years old, taking 10- meds, and will be on a dialysis machine within 5 to 10 years and might die at the age of 75- years old. I am showing to God that I am helping myself and I need his help to help me prolong my life to 100- years old. And I think it is working for me because now, I am only taking 5-meds and and now 180 – pounds ( I need to be at least 170-pounds, my weight in High School).

I controlled my diabetes which by the way I will tell my doctor that I am cutting my Diabetes and High Blood Pressure meds to at least 50 %, on Friday.

To all, please help me attain my goal and if I can be of help, please send me an Email to:

    virgilironwood01@gmail.com
    – or text at 818 431 0786

The following are the information I need:

    1. Where can I find to buy and grow a Gymnema Sylvestre Plant?
    2. Ampalaya can be grown here in L A but it is expensive.
    3. How to powder ampalaya fruit with seeds and leaves. currently I am grinding this and drinking it fresh but the supply might not last. I need some reserve in powder form.
    4. Kalambugay is not available her in L A – seldom but it can grow here. I will try to dry this as per your guidance
    5. Banaba is not found here in L A.

For all those Kababayans, therre is a big market here in the U S for a powdered vegetables. It needs a P I Gov Cerfication thought. I can be your distributor here in L A.

    Please help me

ito po ksi ung gagawin kong IP

gno poh bah ktagl gagawin poh yan?..

  138. mam cris,

turuan nio po ako kung panu magpatuyo ng malunggay in the proper way po…

    • hello!

sa paghuhugas, isa isahin mo rin mas maganda kung sa flowing water. if water is scarce then fill a basin with enough water and wash the leaves thoroughly. Do this at least three times. tie at least 2 or three and hang in drying wires.

In air drying you need to make sure that the sun will shine at least three days. This is to make sure that your drying room is hot enough to dry the leaves. you may open a few windows to let air flow but a lot of air will darken the leaves. when the leaves are cruchy then you may start removing each leaf manually.

  139. Hi Ms. Chris!

Thanks for you blog. 🙂 I’m also very interested in how to make powdered malunggay. My kids don’t like to eat vegetables so, ang ginagawa ko ngshshake ako ng fruits and then nilalagyan ko ng malunggay. kaso may distinct malunggay taste kaya inaayawan ng mga kids. Napansin ko minsan nung nilagay ko sa ref ang malunggay and it stayed there for like 2-3 days, dried and crunchy na sya nung kinuha ko. Pwede kaya gamitin yon at gawing powdered? Thanks! 🙂

    • di ko pa yun nasubukan.

    • hindi na muna ako nagbebenta ng malunggay powder. masyadong nabusy ang buhay kaya di na muna maasikaso. pero i really hope to make a comeback when all is well.

    • wala kasi akong alam Ugin. I will post here kung gagawa na ulit ako ng malunggay powder. Salamat sa pagtangkilik!

Salamat ulit.

    • 1/2 o 1 tsp of malunggay powder can be added to 1 cup of beverage. puede na hot or cold. as to regular, puede siguro 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup in the evening.

  144. hello. I find this site very helpful and interesting. I just want to ask if it is possible to make coffeee out of malunggay leaves or seeds. I’m helping my kid on her in her research thanks!

    • You have two choices:

      1. either you mix malunggay powder with regular coffee. then maybe you can also add creamer and sugar to make it 4 in 1 coffee.

      2. roast the malunggay seeds, grind then drink as coffee. since mlunggay seeds are soft, you may break it first before roasting.

However, my own opinion is its easier to do the first one. leaves are abundant and malunggay do not bear fruits whole year round.

      • thanks very much for your info

  145. ate cristina ok po yung blog po ninyo ang dami ko po natutunan …im a marketing student balak ko po gawing product moringa fruit shake… salamat po sa mga idea.. more power and happy new year

ikalawa, based on my readings, direct light destroys some of the nutrients present in the malunggay

  150. Hi,
Is there anyone breastfeeding mom tried the powdered malunggay?? Does it help her to produce more milk if we put this powdered malunggay to the food that the mom will eat??

    Thanks,

    Jennie 🙂

  151. Thankyooooou Cristina for this blog. :))) Very useful for my Feasibility Study. :))

  152. Hello po. 🙂
may I ask po if pwede bang ma i adopt yung recipe na yan in making tea out of mahogany po ?

    • may

    • Probably it will hep you to lose weight because:
      1. Malunggay powder when drank together with the tea provides a lot of fiber. That fiber will help you cleanse your intestines and remove stuck up wastes in your intestines. Even though we go to the toilet everyday, it does not necessarily follow that we’ve released all the waste in there.

  156. That’s right, Cris. When I make malunggay tea from powder, at the end of the cup I just chug down the sediment at the bottom. My dear MIL assures me that this will keep me healthy late into my senior years. She is 88 years old but looks much younger and still walks miles every day. I am 61 and feel as good as I did when I was 45. My lovely wife is 58 but looks much younger. Her skin is still smooth as silk and she hasn’t a gray hair on her head.

  157. Hello Ms. Cristina – pwedeng bumili ng malunggay powder mo??? At saka turmeric na din. Just tell me the price and kung saan tayo pwedeng magkita please.
